Shawn’s Top 5 “Rain” Songs! [VIDEOS]

[/caption]Like it or not, we have at least the next 24 hours to deal with the rain. As you know I am a sunshine kind of guy, but we could sure use the moisture and the change up is kind of fun too! The rain got me thinking about the best "rain" songs. There are songs from every era and every genre about rain, but here are my favorites!

5. Prince- "Purple Rain"

I have to admit it, I am a Prince fan! Some may make of this, but the man is so darn talented (and weird,yes) that its hard for a music fan not to like him. Not only does this make #5 on my list, but it is my favorite Prince song.

4. James Taylor- "Fire and Rain"

Although I don't actually know the true meaning of this song, it does have rain in the title, so it works for my list! Possibly the biggest hit for one of American music's true great singer/songwriters, it just had to make the list!

3. Led Zeppelin- "Rain Song"

As a huge Zeppelin fan, its hard for me to make a list without including them, and even harder to make a list where they are not number one. The only reason this song is #3 on this list for me is because it is probably only in my top 20 Zeppelin songs of all time, but it really is a great song to lay on the couch listening to while looking out the window watching the rain!

2. Creedence Clearwater Revival- "Have You Ever Seen The Rain"

The rain must have really had an impact on CCR, because depending on who you ask, this list could have also had "Who'll Stop The Rain" as well. I only picked "Have You Ever Seen The Rain," because for some reason I really am in the mood for some rain, so I don't want it to stop. Tomorrow, however, I just may change my mind!

1. Guns N' Roses- "November Rain"

In my opinion there is not a better classic rock vocalist when on top of their game then Axel Rose. He always seems to send the chills down my arm when he lets loose, especially on a slow song. This happens to be one of those songs that I still get goosebumps from every time I hear it!

Agree? Disagree? My list of my favorite "rain" songs, is just that, mine. What are your favorites? Some other tunes to keep in mind are "Shadows In The Rain" by Sting, "I Wish It Would Rain Down" by Genesis, "Here Comes The Rain Again" by The Eurythmics, "Kentucky Rain" by Elvis Presley, and "Rain On the Scarecrow" by John Mellencamp.
