We’re Looking for the Men Who Pulled Us Out of HWY 257 Snowdrift
Well, it's officially time to stay inside.
On our way home during Bomb Cyclone (which took us an hour and a half when it usually takes thirty minutes), we witnessed some pretty scary stuff between Windsor and Fort Collins.
Shelby and I finally arrived at the HWY 14/HWY 257 intersection to see a Toyota Yaris stuck in the middle, being pulled out by a good Samaritan in a truck. "I can get through that," I told Shelby from the driver's side, "I've got snow tires."
Turns out, I couldn't. I ended up getting stuck in the same snowbank and spinning my tires so much, that my engine died. Luckily, it restarted, and just as I was about to give up all hope of getting out before cars came through the intersection and plowed into me, I saw three men standing outside my window.
One was wearing a Pike's Auto Care Center uniform, one was a young man (who couldn't have been much older than 18), and one was pushing my car from behind. They shoveled, they pushed, and they helped, and I can't thank them enough.
Thank you to all the good people helping out scared drivers in Colorado today-- today when we all get home (safely, of course) let's raise a glass to them.
***If anyone knows who these men are, please tell us in the comments. We'd like to thank them.
