
How Colorado Firefighters are Helping Los Angeles
Colorado firefighters are headed to California to assist in fighting a massive wildfire that has been burning for over a week now. California's Palisades Fire has burned an area of about 37 square miles, while the California Eaton Fire has burned through over 22 square miles.

On Saturday, a crew of four and a Type 3 Wildland Engine left the city of Grand Junction, Colorado bound for California, in what is likely to be one of several rounds of aid offered to try to assist the situation. Keep reading to learn more about how Colorado's brave firefighters are helping our countrymen and women near Los Angeles.

Colorado Strike Teams
Colorado firefighters are helping to assist in Los Angeles with many impactful actions such as the deployment of strike teams. The Centennial State has nine strike teams with almost 50 fire engines and personnel. Many of the members of these teams have volunteered to suppress the L.A. fires alongside the local California crews. KOAA.com reports teams from Grand Junction, Durango, Pueblo, Craig, and the Rocky Mountain Coordination Center are all assisting the National effort to fight the fires.
Donating the Use of Specialized Equipment
Denver7.com reports that fire departments from around Colorado including those in Aurora and Boulder have sent specialized equipment and engines to enhance the firefighting resources on the ground in the Los Angeles area. Special equipment includes Type 3 Fire Brush Engines from Aurora and Colorado Springs.
