During prohibition, bootlegging in Colorado was a huge money maker for members of organized crime families until law enforcement caught wind of a convention and made numerous arrests.
One small business in Fort Collins, a butcher, is looking out for those in his community that are going to be struggling if/when SNAP benefits end, and those who were furloughed/working without pay.
In addition, this year, they are also looking for donations of frozen hams, whole frozen chickens, other holiday main course or centerpiece food items.
With government workers being furloughed, SNAP benefits being put on hold, and just the overall uncertainty within the economy, a lot of people/families across the nation are scared and frustrated.
On the bright side, at least they didn't opt for a roundabout; but many residents, and visitors to Loveland find the intersection "weird," to this day.
