One of toughest jobs any woman in Colorado can have is being a mom; being a working mom is even tougher. Luckily, working moms living around the Fort Collins and Loveland area are in a good spot for being one.

A Majority of Moms in Northern Colorado Are Working Moms

Clearly, if you're a working mother you are not alone; stats show that 77% of women in the Fort Collins-Loveland metro have jobs have children under 18. I would say that that number is about having at least one child; there are many, many mothers with more than one offspring under 18, that also have a full-time job.

Why is the Fort Collins-Loveland Area Good for Working Moms?

A study done by CoWorkdingCafe in 2026 looked at over a dozen key metrics related to work, education, health and environment; metrics such as  income, remote work, childcare, schools, pediatric care and coworking access.

Among the findings:

  • Fort Collins-Loveland is ranked #1 when it comes to coworking availability, so they can work closer to home,
  • Nearly 24% of working Moms in the Fort Collis-Loveland metro can work from home, while the national average is only 16%
  • The median income for working Moms in the Fort Collins-Loveland metro is $60,000 while the national median is only $49.000.
  • Colorado, itself, offers 124.2 pediatricians per 100,000 children, above the national rate of 116.1.
  • In Fort Collins-Loveland, 78.3% of moms are employed, ranking seventh among small metros and above the national rate of 73.6%.
  • Working Moms in the Fort Collins-Loveland metro that have to commute to work only spend just over 20 minutes doing so, while the national average is about 26 minutes.
