Tiny Ice Cream Shop in Denver Serves Up Giant Smashburgers
Yes, the big burger chain Smashburger got its start in the Mile High City, but smashed burgers have been around a while. A place in Denver has been serving up their own smashburgers since 2024 and they're being talked about, big time.
Right Cream's building, at 2423 South Downing in Denver, was once a part of Maddie's Restaurant which closed in 2019. The other part of Maddie's is now a part of Denver Beer Company.
There a lot of stories out there about people finding success during the COVID-19 pandemic, and this is one of them. Right Cream out of Denver began in the midst of the pandemic, selling pints of ice cream to "customers" waiting for them in the parking lots of grocery stores.

It's an interesting beginning to what has become, five years later, quite successful. Right Cream (named after its founder David Right) now has a legitimate "brick-and-mortar" location in Denver, not far from a popular brewery. In 2024, David took to also grilling up smash burgers.

I, for one, give David credit: It takes a lot of guts just to open a business focused on one thing; to add something completely different to the business and making it work, is pretty amazing.
