Will Loveland’s Former Woodward Governor Become a New Data Center?
If there's one things that can get Coloradans "fired up" it's news of a data center coming to their community. Loveland seems to be headed to having one on the northwest side of town.
Who is Interested in Bringing a Data Center to Loveland, Colorado?
According to BizWest and the Reporter-Herald, Spark AI Foundry, has contacted City of Loveland staff about converting the former Woodward [Governor] site on Wilson Avenue into an AI data center. Woodward left that Loveland site in 2020; it's currently owned by a Martin Lind company (I was unaware of that.)
According to BizWest and the Reporter-Herald, Spark AI hasn't submitted any applications yet to start moving forward. Their website sure does make it seem like it's a done deal though:
The property is well-suited for aerospace and defense users, life science users, biotechnology users, and manufacturing users, and is now being purpose-built for AI infrastructure.
According to BizWest and the Reporter-Herald, the company is looking for some more partners to come on board, but already has a couple. One of those companies, to me, sounds very interesting.

What Deep Green does is submerge the servers into a biodegradable mineral oil, heating up the oil; heat exchangers pull that heat away (which cools off the servers;) that heat gets transferred out to local facilities (like a swimming pool) for free All of this stuff goes above my head, but that sounds very fascinating.
The Loveland City Council is holding a "Listening Session" on July 25, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Loveland Public Library. I can imagine folks will want to the council to "listen" to their concerns.
