There are hundreds of food trucks across Colorado; how many can say that they date back to about 1935? With that kind of history and experience, you know this one in Greeley must be serving up great food, including a great fried shrimp box.

Longtime Greeley Drive-In Restaurant Leads to Spin-Off Food Truck

Jess' Drive Inn opened in 2022, basically replacing JB's Drive In, which closed in 2020 after more than 80 years at 2501 8th Avenue in Greeley. According to the Greeley Tribune, Jess was the owner of JB's' father, who owned and operated Jess' Sandwich Shop right there at 2501 8th.

If you grew up in Greeley, you loved JB's; people across the area were crushed when they decided to shut down. Just as many people were excited with the news of a "JB's food truck" opening at the same location. The food truck serves up a menu very similar to JB's, so it's like they never closed at, all.

I'd heard about the Shrimp Snax box at Jess' and had to go get it. It was my first time visiting the food truck, I didn't know you don't park, you and your car get in line. They come to your car and take your order and you pay; then, as the car line progresses, they step out of the truck with your order, and you're on your way.

Jumbo Shrimp for Lunch Lures Radio DJ From Windsor

I don't think I would make a special trip from the radio station in Windsor to 8th Avenue in Greeley for regular-sized shrimp; jumbo shrimp, however, the temptation was too great.

The Shrimp Snax box comes with three jumbo shrimp from Gulf of Mexico fried, French fries, a slice of bread, and a side of tartar sauce; all for under $14. Well worth it.
