Wings Of Freedom Flys Into The Fort Collins-Loveland Airport This Weekend

Only nine B-17s are still flyable in the world today, and only one each B-24 and P-51 that are still flyable, and these rare pieces of American history will be on display this weekend at the Fort Collins-Loveland Municipal Airport.

The Collings Foundation, a non-profit organization that puts on living history lessons around the country, is bringing the 13th annual Wings of Freedom Tour to Northern Colorado. Along with the chance to explore the vintage World War II planes, guest are also treated to World War II reenactments,  presentations from veterans, and a 1940's style dinner and dance.

The event is expected to draw over 8,000 people to the airport to celebrate the events that changed the world over 60 years ago. Tickets for the ground tour are $12 for adults, and free child admission ($6) with purchase of adult ticket and available 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
