Warm March Weather Leads to a Red Flag Warning Today for Northeastern Colorado

With highs reaching into the upper 70s this afternoon, along with breezy conditions, the National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for High Fire Danger. The alert covers much of northeastern Colorado:

A RED FLAG WARNING MEANS THAT CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONSARE EITHER OCCURRING NOW...OR WILL SHORTLY. A COMBINATION OF STRONG WINDS...LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY...AND RECORD WARM TEMPERATURES CAN CONTRIBUTE TO EXTREME FIRE BEHAVIOR.

Low humidity and wind are key factors in fires starting- especially along the plains of Colorado.  The warning goes into effect at 11 a.m. Monday morning until 6 p.m. Monday night.
