Marijuana Plants

Colorado has made marijuana legal to posses and smoke, so long as you are on your own property and so on and so forth. After that happened in Colorado and Washington, the TSA may turn a blind eye to users flying with Mary Jane.

From the TSA website:

TSA security officers do not search for marijuana or other drugs. In the event a substance that appears to be marijuana is observed during security screening, TSA will refer the matter to a law enforcement officer.

Technically speaking, the TSA was created to thwart terrorism, not to enforce drug laws. Marijuana is still illegal in many states, but if you are flying from a state where it is medicinally allowed or legal to another state where it is medicinally allowed and legal, the TSA will probably let you through.

One thing to make sure of, is that you carry your paperwork if you use it medicinally. And to be careful which line at the airport you get in. Airports fall under federal jurisdiction, and marijuana is still illegal federally. From Lawers.com:

“It is a federal agency, marijuana does remain illegal under federal law, so if you get the wrong TSA agent and he wants to be a pain, he can arrest you,” Keith Stroup says.

Insert joke here about the Mile High Club.
