There Really is a TV Show About Gigolos, WHAT!?

As I was being lazy watching some football this weekend I couldn't help but laugh and then be amazed by the commercial I kept seeing for a new season of a TV show appropriately named Gigolos. In case you don't know, a gigolo is a male escort. I thought it was bad enough people paid to have sex, but now we are paying to watch people pay to have sex? Really?

Gigolos follows around five male escorts in Las Vegas through their daily lives and interactions with each other. Cameras also follow the escorts on their appointments with women, including their sexual activity (yes, that means watching them have sex!!).

The thing that is more crazy to me than the idea for the show is that people are watching this stuff! The show is gearing up for it's third season on the premium cable channel Showtime and this season producer Richard Grieco also suggested that one male gigolo could be forced to be with a male to get his paycheck...

Isn't this illegal? Well there are loopholes in all laws, and the gigolos claim it is perfectly legal. "We are a companion service and clients pay a rate per hour. First thing you're gonna do is collect the money from the client and then from there, whatever happens between you two is two consenting adults. It's illegal for you to take any money after that for any sort of sexual services or whatever" is what they claim.

Maybe it's my old age, but to me this kind of show seems rather ridiculous. Plus, these men make me look like a scrawny, untanned, ugly guy who no woman is ever going to want to be around. "50 Shades of Grey", "Magic Mike", and now Gigolos, are men really the sex-crazed gender?
