I have been to the Greeley Stampede every year since I could walk and I can honestly say that one of the top two or three coolest things I have ever done at the event happened this past Saturday when I was there to broadcast live before the Lynyrd Skynyrd show. I played with a real life monkey!

I didn't even realize they had a monkey at the carnival, but I guess this has been going on for the last few years. For $5 you get to take a picture with Ace the monkey, and they say that if you give him a quarter it's good luck. More than good luck it's awesome to watch Ace take your quarter then put it in his pocket before reaching out to shake your hand.

We made friends with the monkey handler, and got to get to know Ace a bit. After I took a picture with him he came down into my lap and started jumping like crazy at my face. I got kind of scared, and made the monkey handler about pee his pants laughing before saying "he's just a monkey he won't hurt you." But if you have never had a monkey on your lap and it starts jumping at your face you would get scarred too! Ace then decided to insist I lose my hat by throwing on the ground and then getting on his back for a stomach pet I assumed, but as soon as I started petting his stomach Ace bit me! Luckily, he has no teeth so it was a gumming. That's when Ace and I had to part ways.

It's been a few days and I still cant stop talking about Ace, and I actually have plans on going to see him again when I do the Butch Show live from the Stampede on Wednesday afternoon (July 3rd).

If you go to the Greeley Stampede it is a MUST to stop by and see ACE!
