Service Members to be Paid Back for Improper Foreclosures
Just in time for this Memorial Day weekend, 178 members of the military are finally being treated as the heroes they are and not as "deliquents".
Bank of America
and Saxon Mortgage Services will be repaying soldiers whose homes were improperly foreclosed upon. The Justice Department alleges that the banks violated the Service Members Civil Relief Act-which protects active duty military members---
" who had a mortgage obligation prior to enlistment or prior to being ordered to active duty."
In the end, though the money IS important, many of the soldiers are wishing that they could just get their homes back- but that won't be happening.
