Scarlett Johansson to Star In ‘Ghost In The Shell’ NSFW
Scarlett Johansson has signed on to play the lead role in the Dreamworks live-action adaptation of 'Ghost In The Shell'.
Okay. I admit it. I enjoy a good anime every now and then. I haven't really gotten into it for years, and I'm not one of those SailorMoon-Pokemon-Bronies or anything, but I do like the good ones. And the 1995 film 'Ghost In The Shell', directed by Mamoru Oshii based on the comic by Masumune Shirow, is one of my favorites.
I don't know how I feel about Scarlett Johansson playing Motoko Kusanagi, the super-hot cyborg special-ops detective. Don't get me wrong. Scarlett Johansson is luscious... but Motoko is Japanese! WTF? Would it have been impossible for Hollywood to consider casting a Japanese actress in the role?
Ugh. Oh, well. I know I'll probably end up watching the-hell-out-of-it anyway. It better be damn good.
If you've never seen it, (you should) check out this clip from the 1995 film's intro. Not Safe For Work
