My Friend Passed & His Dog Just Got Hit By a Car
This is a personal post. It is pretty difficult when you lose a friend and I typically don't like to share this very personal type of thing with my listeners. However, a friend is in need and I thought maybe a few of you would step up and help out.
I have no idea what it is like to lose a spouse unexpectedly. It is hard enough to lose a friend.
On Friday 9/12/14, our dear friend Micah Falcon Barksdale passed away unexpectedly at the age of 33. His young wife Jenn has been been trying to pick up the pieces of a shattered life, and it's been so hard for her. Then, on Saturday 9/20/14, their only dog Charli was hit by a car. Charli came to Jenn and Micah as a stray, and they have given her a wonderful home. The accident happened on the very day Jenn has started to sort through Micah's belongings for storage, just a week after she lost Micah. Many of her friends were there to help that day and saw the accident. Many of them sprang into action, racing Charli to the vet as quickly as posible and staying with Jenn there all day. The accident was pretty severe, but sweet Charli is fighting to survive. She is at the Animal Hospital Specialty Center ( www.ahscvets.com) in Highland's Ranch, under the care of Dr. Letcher.

The vet bill on the low end is in the $4000 range and the upper end could be $8000. I know that this seems like a lot of money to save a dog. But this has more to do with helping a young widow not lose another member of her family just a week after losing her husband. The whole thing is unbelievably tragic to me. You don't know this family but if you could donate even $5 it might just do a Colorado family some good and give you a few more Karma points. They have set up a gofundme page where you can donate as little or as much as you want. The full story with updates is there and it would be greatly appreciated. As of Sunday night the gofundme page had raised $1400. We are getting there.
Thank you,
Cain
