Leonard Nimoy R.I.P.

Leonard Nimoy, known for his beloved character Spock from 'Star Trek', has died today. He was 83.

Leonard Nimoy died Friday morning in Los Angeles, from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

It's funny how a single character, from a 60's science fiction television series (originally), could impact peoples lives so much. But he did. Spock, the half-human, half-vulcan science officer on 'Star Trek' was, at least for some of us, a teacher and philosopher. Leonard Nimoy didn't create Spock on his own (thank you too, Mr Roddenberry), but Spock (and the continued success of Star Trek) would not have been possible without him.

Leonard Nimoy was also an accomplished director, photographer, writer and poet.

Thank you, Mr. Nimoy for your service on this planet.
