As you may, or may not, know, I have done a little bowling in my day… Ok a lot of bowling. I still hit the lanes here and there, but more than worrying about how my game is, (not very good anymore) I think it is important to get our youth involved in the sport I grew up loving. That is why I am proud to support my buddy Jeremy and the crew at Highland Park Lanes as they put on their annual Race to 300 Car Show this Sunday (July 28th).

From 9am to 1pm Sunday head over to the parking lot at Highland Park Lanes in Greeley and enjoy a free day of browsing through tons of cool cars and raising money to help support young bowlers in Northern Colorado. Kids that aren't out on the streets spay-painting buildings or stealing cigarettes from the gas station to smoke while they are supposed to be in school. These kids are inside getting exercise, building friendships, and learning how to create skills in a game that they can participate in for the rest of their lives.

I will be there with a booth handing out Loudwire goodies, cranking out some music and getting you signed up to win some cool prizes. There will also be door prizes to win, games to play, and hot dogs and drinks served up for just  a buck a piece with all the proceeds also going to the Jr. Bowling Scholarship Fund.

It is not too late to enter a car either. Entry fee is just $15 per car. All makes and models are welcome, and 10 trophies will be up for grabs this year in eight different car categories. Last years categories included Peoples Choice, Kid’s Choice, Highland Park Lanes Choice, Best Truck, Best Race Car, Best Rat Rod, Entries Choice and Best Late Model (1985 and newer).

If you have questions, would like to enter, or would like to sponsor or donate to the event call Jeremy at (970)330-2695 or visit the Race to 300 Car Show Facebook page.

Hope to see you Sunday!
