This can be seen most recently in Littleton, Colorado, where a building that stood for 55 years was recently demolished to make room for a new development project.
Littleton Colorado's Qwest Tower Demolished to Make Room For New Development
The building in question was known as the Qwest Tower and was located in the Denver suburb of Littleton, Colorado, since 1970.

However, this past Tuesday, June 11, 2025, the building was fully demolished after a brief history of prior demolition projects.
When it was originally erected back in 1970, the tower was used by Gates Rubber Co. as a drying tower, but was subsequently purchased by Qwest and Lumen Technologies, where it served as a testing site for fiber optic technology.
The land, which is located at 700 West Mineral Avenue in Littleton, is set to be repurposed for residential and commercial purposes.
The land, which is made up of 63 acres, will see 45 of those acres dedicated to retail spaces, which will include a Costco.
18 of the aforementioned acres will be dedicated to multi-family housing units.
Here we see the moment just before what's left of the tower hits the ground.
Here we see the moment of impact.
The impact can be seen further here.
Naturally, the impact caused quite a bit of dust.
