In case you missed it, the question, or because we're talking about Jeopardy, the answer, read as follows:
Colorado Springs' website for this nearby attraction dubs it "America's Mountain."

It's reasonable to assume that any Coloradan watching this particular episode perked up and likely shouted, "Pikes Peak!" before the contestant could answer.
It's also likely that those same Coloradans followed this exclamation with another in the neighborhood of, "Ah come on!"
You can probably guess that the contestant answered the question incorrectly, something most Coloradans wouldn't dream of doing.
While other mountains including the numerous popular ski mountains, along with Colorado's highest mountain, Mt. Elbert, are famous in their own right, Pikes Peak arguably stands as the most famous mountain in the state.
In addition, the simple reference to Colorado Springs, the city that Pikes Peak overlooks, would have been a dead giveaway for anyone familiar with "America's Mountain."
However, it's reasonable to assume that this contestant does not hail from the Centennial State and if that's the case, we forgive him.
