These Five Organizations are Feeding Colorado
Unfortunately, statistics show that roughly 1 in 8 Coloradans is shown to be food insecure, with children being especially vulnerable. These statistics show that in 2023, 12.7% of Colorado residents of all ages experienced hunger, while the figure increases to 14.3% when it comes to children.

In addition, according to a poll taken by the United States Census Bureau in 2022, 17% of Colorado households with children were reportedly unable to adequately feed their children because of financial reasons.
Fortunately, Colorado is home to five separate organizations that work to combat hunger in each of the state’s counties.
Five Organizations are Working to Feed Colorado
The network of organizations, collectively known as Feeding Colorado, work to do just that - feed Colorado residents that are food sensitive.
One of the largest of these organizations, Food Bank of the Rockies, works to feed residents across the state, stretching from Kansas to Utah. Some of the most populous counties that Food Bank of the Rockies serves include each of those that encompass the Denver metro area, as well as Mesa, Montrose, Delta, Eagle, Pitkin, Summit, and Garfield Counties, to name a few.
The southern half of the state is served by Care and Share and includes counties like El Paso, Pueblo, Gunnison, Fremont, Chaffee, Saguache, Dolores, and Montezuma.
While these two organizations cover the majority of the state when it comes to food assistance, Larimer, Weld, and Boulder Counties each have their own food assistance programs which are the Food Bank of Larimer County, Weld Food Bank, and Community Food Share, respectively.
