Sure, Colorado is (sometimes) home to some mega-rich celebrities like Tom Cruise and Oprah, but many of the massive, lavish homes in ski towns like Aspen and Vail aren't exactly in the public eye.

So, how many billionaires per capita call Colorado home?

Colorado + Its Billionaires

The most recent data shows that Colorado is currently home to a total of 12 billionaires, which amounts to an average of 2.04 per one million people.

If we travel outside the state, we find that Wyoming is home to 11 billionaires, which seems like a comparable amount until we adjust the figure to represent billionaires per capita. Because Wyoming is the least populated state in the nation, its 11 billionaires give the state a whopping figure of 10.3 billionaires per million people.

By comparison, Kansas is much less wealthy overall, with only two billionaires, giving it a figure of 0.68 per million people, while Nebraska has three billionaires, giving it a figure of 1.52 per million people.

If we travel to the west, we find that Utah is home to a total of six billionaires, or 1.75 per million people, and the state that shares a tiny border with Colorado, Oklahoma, is home to eight residents with a billion dollars or more, giving it a score of 1.98 per million people.

Interestingly, Colorado's southernmost neighbor, New Mexico, is shown to have no residents who are considered billionaires.
