According to Censusreporter.org, about 38% of Grand Junction residents are 50 years old or older. Grand Junction residents ages 60 to 69 represent 14% of the city’s population, the largest population-by-age category.

If you or someone you know is interested in AARP Foundation Tax-Aide, the program is about to start offering services on February 1st. Assistance will be available by appointment Monday through Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Western Slope Now reports in-person appointments in Grand Junction will be scheduled for the US Bank location on White Avenue.

AARP’s free tax prep assistance is open to taxpayers over the age of 50. Their tax prep volunteers are most familiar with older individuals with low to moderate income, but their assistance is open to anyone who meets the age limit.
