
BBQ Joint in Fort Collins, Colorado to Become New Restaurant
Dining out options in Fort Collins, Colorado, are going to look different come the spring of 2025, especially if you love BBQ.
A BBQ joint that has been open and successful for over 15 years, is shutting down that business to become something completely different. This could be disappointing to many, but very interesting to many others.
Moe's Original BBQ in Downtown Fort Collins, Colorado, Flipping to Schnitzel
I wouldn't say there are a lot of barbecue places in Fort Collins, but Moe's Original does come to mind when you bring that category up. Near the corner of College and LaPorte in Downtown, it's been there so long, it's hard to remember what was there before.

In a press release, the owners of Moe's Original BBQ, said they were ready to take on a new culinary journey as of March or early April of 2025: Bringing schnitzel to Downtown Fort Collins.
I visited my brother when he was stationed in Germany; that schnitzel was very good. Then again, you batter and fry just about anything, and I'm grabbing a seat.
New Food Means a New Name for Moe's in Fort Collins
The Schneider's, owners of Moe's, have named the new endeavor Schneider's Schnitzel Service. The "service" part comes in because it's going to look like a gas/service station from the 50s.

But they also lean into the "S" sound, when looking at their featured dishes: schnitzel, spätzle, sausage, and German potato salad. There will also be menu items focusing on Ted Schneider's Wisconsin heritage, like cheddar bratwurst, cracker-crusted Walleye, and Wisconsin cheese curds.
Schnitzel dates back to 19th-century Austria, where original recipes called for veal; nowadays you'll mostly find pork and chicken schnitzel.

You can't deny that there are not a lot of places specializing in schnitzel. I can see going out of my way to give them a shot: A unique venue, great German food; count me in.
