Colorado does have a love of craft beer, there's no denying that. Even though the craze has faded a bit, one brewer in Fort Collins is still thriving and giving you the option at a very large mug of beer.

German-Style Beer in Fort Collins Means German-Style Servings

I can't imagine having a craft beer in such a large mug. By the time I would get done with that amount of beer, the beer inside the mug will have gone warm and "nasty." But there are those who probably wouldn't be taking such a long time to consume it all, and would have a delicious beer all the way through.

Zwei Brewing in Fort Collins has been in operation since 2014, and is one of The Choice City's favorite craft brewers. They have a great spot (location-wise and style-wise) at Mason and Harmony on the south side of town.

If you've ever seen those "Stein Hoisting" competitions that happen around "Oktoberfest," you've seen those big mugs. I've never tried that competition, because I don't want to embarrass myself. Those who do try, look like they're suffering, about 30 seconds in.

I bring those steins up, because Zwei has the option of getting any of their beers in one of their "Mass Mugs," which are those big steins. Those steins hold about a liter of beer, 32 ounces, almost three 12 oz. cans of beer in one glass.

When you think about a stein holding two pints, it doesn't seem like that much, but when you see it.. wow.

On Mondays they have a great deal on them:

Normally, depending on which beer you get, the MASS MUG runs about $10. I really can't see myself having one, let alone two, but their limit is three.

MORE BEER - The Best Beers From Every State

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery. Keep reading to find out what the best beer is in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C.
