Wrigley's - Chicago-Themed Restaurant/Bar in Golden, Colorado

There's something about the city of Chicago, that draws millions of visitors every year, whether it's during the summer, or for St. Patrick's Day, when they turn the Chicago River green.

Chicago is a great place to visit; but if you can't, you can check out Wrigley's in Golden.

The City of Chicago uses about 40 pounds of vegetable-based dye to turn the Chicago River green for St. Patrick's Day every year. The exact recipe is kept secret.

I, myself, have only been to Chicago once, but it was one of the best vacations I've ever had. Checking out the museums, The Billy Goat Tavern, taking the architectural tour on the river, and more, was just a blast.

While trying to find a park in Golden that I had found out about, I came across Wrigley's. I'd not heard of that, either, and was intrigued. So, I went to grab a bite and check it out.

Wrigley's has been around since 2008, when Skip and Paula Perry, who got engaged at Wrigley Field in 2006. Skip grew up in the Chicago area, so when they decided to open a restaurant in Golden, they decided it should be Chicago-themed; especially when it comes to the food

The Wrigley's menu features:

  • Vienna Chicago Dogs.
  • Maxwell Street Polish (sausage.)
  • Italian Beef.
  • Chicago-style hand-tossed thin pizzas.

The have a huge back deck/patio where they have bands play (I wish that I had stopped in on one of those days/night) a Tiki Bar, and a ton of Chicago-related stuff all around the place.

While at Wrigley's I had one of their Chicago sandwiches, the "Chicago Booty:" Italian Beef, topped with mozzarella, sweet peppers and marinara. It was a good as it sounded.
