Loveland Will Indeed be Getting That New King Soopers
**UPDATE**
On March 4, 2025, according to the Reporter-Herald, the Loveland City Council approved there being a metro district to obtain the near $12 million need to upgrade infrastructure and roads near the King Soopers project.
In part of paying back the the costs of the metro district, consumers will be seeing a 1% pubic improvement fee (like we see at Centerra) and a new 3% public improvement fee on services such as haircuts and pilates studios that will a part of the new shopping center.
I guess that's the price we just have to pay for getting that new King Soopers.

Longtime Farm in Loveland to be Annexed for King Soopers
The Schmer family farm, west of I-25 along Highway 34, has been in operation since 1905, so it's great that this annexation deal will keep that farm in operation.

According to the Reporter-Herald, the Loveland City Council unanimously approved annexing the 122-acre farm, but only developing 30 acres, leaving the house and farm in place.
One Thing Needs to Be Settled With New King Soopers Project in Loveland
According to the Reporter-Herald, though the developers of this project and the the Centerra South (just to west) project agreed to together handle short-term improvements to the area for traffic concerns, they're not willing to handle the long-term needs.

With that, the city will need to come up with money, down the line, to get those improvements done. That may involve a new metro district, which I know a lot of people are not fans of.
