This morning, Feb 20, a traffic accident closed a portion of westbound I-70 in the mountains near the Eisenhower Tunnel. A semi truck was jackknifed, closing the entire westbound flow of traffic up into the mountains from Loveland Pass to Silverthorne.

If you've ever headed into the mountains in the winter time, headed skiing - or anywhere really - you know how crazy the driving conditions can get at any time. I remember in the old days driving into the east side of the tunnel in the sunshine and coming out the west end of the tunnel into a snowstorm. Loveland Pass is its own little world up there.

Denver7's traffic guru Jayson Luber was on top of the situation as it developed this morning, reporting on the accident and showing some of the traffic cams to get to the bottom of the situation, when he discovered what the hold up was all about.

And then, thanks to eagle eye cameras and likely curiosity, he spotted something else happening in the middle of the traffic jam.

I guess that's one way to pass the time? Personally, with temps as low as they've been and what appears to be snowy, slushy conditions, I would have stayed in the car with the heat on and maybe streamed some cat videos on social media, but hey... more power to these guys for wanting to get out and get a little exercise in!

So, How Many Points Do You Get For Each Colorado Traffic Violation?

While the amount of points you can get for any different kind of traffic violation may change with certain variables during the legal process - like if you just pay the ticket, you might be eligible for a point reduction - this is generally where each ticket starts upon being written at the incident.
