I don't have it often, but when I do, I'm the type of Chipotle fan who rotates between two different proteins with my usual burrito bowl.

Sometimes it's barbacoa, sometimes it's chicken. I was a fan of their "al pastor chicken" they did last year, but that was a limited time offering  Too limited, in my opinion. I thought it should have stuck around for a lot longer than it did, but I digress.

On Friday, Chipotle rolled out a new variation of chicken for all of us to try that I think may end up being a pretty decent sized hit. Capitalizing on the "hot honey" trend taking the world by storm, they've added "Chipotle Honey Chicken" to their menu as of last week.

In a press release, Chipotle lauds the protein as:

Fresh chicken hot off the grill, seasoned with savory Mexican spices, in a marinade of seared, smoked chipotle peppers and a touch of pure honey.

Chipotle Honey Chicken balances the unique heat from Chipotle peppers and a touch of sweet from pure honey to deliver a flavorful touch to any entrée.

Apparently they had been testing the new flavor of chicken in Nashville, TN and Sacramento, CA for a limited time, where they quickly gained popularity and exceeded expectations, leading them to roll out the new variation of chicken nationally.

They are also featuring a "most popular chicken bowl" ordering option on the app and online, for easy ordering, which - according to their release - is the new "Chipotle Honey Chicken, with white rice, black beans, fajita veggies, fresh tomato salsa, roasted chili-corn salsa, sour cream, cheese and lettuce."

Now, if you'll excuse me... I think I'm headed to Chipotle for lunch.
