Popular Greeley Mexican Spot Ends Run After Nearly 25 Years

It's a shame when any restaurant in Colorado make the decision to close its doors, but it does hurt more when you find out that a Greeley spot that has been around since 2001, has to "hang it up" after pleasing so many patrons. Generations of Greeleyites made great memories there, as well as enjoyed great meals.

In this particular case, the initial owners of the restaurant turned it over in early 2025 to an experienced chef and his family; but, by the end of that year, it seemed clear that things we're going to end well for Cazadores Mexican Grill & Cantina. If you look up the English translation for Cazadore you'll find "The Hunter," it's ironic that folks will now be hunting for their new favorite Mexican spot.

Chef Rodrigo Quijano and his family took over Cazadores in March of 2025, with a lot of enthusiasm and excitement; in August of 2025 he posted on their Facebook page:

To hone my craft, I also went to culinary school. I’ve had experience running, opening, and creating kitchens that carry my family’s legacy of creating dishes that nourish and connect people. Now I want to bring that same love and passion to all of you.

It goes without saying that running a restaurant can be very difficult, even in good times. 2025 saw a lot of price increases that put dents in folks' ability to dine out. Add in the cost of supplies for the restaurant, and it becomes a recipe for things not working out.
