Broncos Testing Pilot Program For Season Ticket Holders
If you remember back when the Denver Broncos were purchased by the Walton Penner ownership group and they hired Damani Leach as the team president, they quickly announced they were going to be asking lots and lots of questions of the fans for what improvements they would like to see.
There have been a TON of quiet changes inside the organization, after what ended up a pretty dismal period after winning Super Bowl 50, but especially after the passing of former owner Pat Bowlen threw the team and its decision making power into a trust.

Once the new owners took over and started to bring in their own business savvy crew, many strides have been made not only on the field, but in the community and amongst the paying ticket holders as well.
This season, the team has announced they will be testing out a pilot program amongst a small group of randomly-selected season ticket holders, where if the ticket holders can't make the game, they have a much easier option than selling the ticket online.

Granted, more tickets are sold for profit on the secondary market... but true fans who don't want those tickets to fall into the hands of fans of the Broncos' opponent will have a much, much easier and guilty conscience free option: merely give them back to the team.
In exchange for the tickets you give back - up to three games per year - you earn a credit toward a game on the calendar next year, thereby reducing your total cost of the tickets the following season.

The Broncos have sold out every home game since 1970, so they're not hurting for ticket revenue. But it's just another way the team is making strides in improving the overall fan experience, and you have to love it.
