A couple of "trap games" await your Denver Broncos before they finish the season against four worthy opponents to close out the season, and the fate of their success (and the AFC West) depend greatly on what happens the next two games.

A "trap game" is where a favored team plays an obviously inferior opponent who unexpectedly defeats them.

They travel to the east coast this weekend to face the Washington Commanders on Sunday Night Football - one where Jayden Daniels will not play - and while Denver is favored to win, these are the types of games that have sort of plagued them all year.

For whatever reason, they seem to play to the level of their opponent... meaning they'll play a good team like Kansas City or Philadelphia really tough, but completely soil the bed against a bad team like Las Vegas or Tennessee, and only squeak out a win in a game they should have blown them out.

Good teams beat bad teams in a big way, and Denver has that opportunity this weekend against Washington and next with a rematch against Las Vegas, before finishing out the season against four opponents that will have major implications with who wins the AFC West and where teams may end up seeded in the playoffs.

The Green Bay Packers and Jacksonville Jaguars visit Denver on December 14 and 21, respectively, before a road trip rematch with Kansas City on Christmas Day looms. Then the Chargers will come to Denver about January 4 for a rematch. The Chargers were one of two teams to narrowly beat the Broncos earlier this year.

Denver currently sits at 9-2. With those four tougher opponents looming, it's imperative they do what they need to do to get to 11-2 before the tough stretch, which will allow them to lose one or two of those four and still be sitting pretty on their way to (hopefully) their first AFC West Championship since their Super Bowl 50 season back in 2015.
