Alvarado’s Mexican Expands to 2 Colorado Locations With New Spot in Windsor

There are hundreds of Mexican restaurants in Colorado; it's great to see one take the chance on Windsor when it came to opening a second spot.

Alvarado's Mexican Fast Food Restaurant Opens Windsor Locaton

It was in late August of 2024 that Taco John's closed down their Windsor location, just east of I-25 on Highway 392, after many years of existence. This new (to Windsor) Mexican restaurant looks like make the location busy, once again.

While many are going to miss what Taco John's had to offer, Alvarado's Mexican Fast Food is primed to become a Northern Colorado favorite. They have great, authentic, Mexican menu items, prepared quickly.

I stopped in at the Alvarado's in Windsor in mid-March of 2025, just two weeks after they'd opened. I found on the store's owners behind the counter, as they were still hiring staff. He seemed very eager to bring what Alvarado's offers to Windsor.

While their Englewood location boasts being open 24 hours a day, the Windsor location is open 6:00 a.m. until Midnight. That's plenty of time to get in there and grab some great food: breakfast, lunch, dinner, late night. Being off the interstate helps as well.

At Alvarado's you'll find:

• Combination plates.
• Tortas.
• Burritos/Breakfast burritos.
• Breakfast menu items (Huevos rancheros, etc.)
• Tostadas.
• Carne Asada fries.
• Super nachos.

Alvarado's Englewood location, was once a Burger King; it looks like their setting a trend for themselves: Flipping former major chain restaurants into local success.
