Please Explore While I Fold The Laundry: Houseguest Edition

We have had family from out of town stay with us for the past three weeks. Almost a month of pretending to be a normal family without losing our ish at each other in front of our guests. It's been exhausting.

So, where are the best places to take your out-of-town guests so they don't smell up your house? Let's take a look.

Old Town Fort Collins

This place is dazzling. But to be completely fair, Downtown Loveland and Downtown Greeley are also very cool.

There's something about a warm Friday night walking up and down the main drag in Old Town. There's a relaxing fountain, plenty of ice cream shops for the kids, and the good folks from the petition company will keep your guests busy explaining why they need just a simple signature to save the forest. What are my guests going to say? They don't want to save the forest? It's the perfect crime because they're from Kansas, and people from Kansas cannot be rude.

You'll get at least an hour of alone time while waiting in the car.

Estes Park

We always hit up Estes when family comes to town. It's a bit of a drive, but the mountain views make it a beautiful ride. And if any of your guests get car sick, that just means they won't speak to you the entire drive out of fear of vomiting.

Once you get up there, take them to one of the 342 shops in Estes Park that sell t-shirts with sayings like "I'm on Mountain Time" or "The Mountains Are Calling, And I Must Go". Stuff that will really show their friends back home that they get it when it comes to Colorado.
