We're nearing the end of the school year and kids all across the state of Colorado are gearing up for summer.

Students and teachers alike will get to have a respite from the hard work they've been putting in all year.

While students get to relax after spending the majority of their days learning, teachers will get a break from handling all of those kids.

On average, an individual teacher in the United States will have approximately 17 students in the classroom, according to the National Center for Education Statistics.

Colorado's average is just a bit higher.

For teachers in all schools from Elementary to High School, the average class size in the Centennial State is around 17.4 to 18.

In some school districts, this might seem like the average. However, in some of the smallest schools in the state, this is actually just about half of their entire student body population.
