History was made for Colorado State University on Wednesday night.
Wednesday, June 26th was the first night of the 2025 NBA draft. Prospects from all across the country flocked to Brooklyn for a night that could change their lives forever.

Cooper Flagg Goes No. 1 to the Dallas Mavericks

The very first pick of the night went to the Dallas Mavericks, they selected Duke star forward Cooper Flagg with the No. 1 overall pick.

CSU’s Nique Clifford Drafted in the First Round

One of the big stories from the first night of the draft involved a six foot six guard from CSU. Nique Clifford was selected 24th in the first round of the 2025 NBA draft.

Only the Fourth First-Round Pick in CSU Rams History

This is a big moment for CSU because Clifford is actually only the fourth first round draft pick from the Rams in program history.

Traded on Draft Night: Clifford to the Sacramento Kings

He was initially selected by Oklahoma, but in a trade with the Sacramento Kings, he ended up landing there.
From Colorado Springs to the NBA
The Colorado Springs native was very excited to be selected in the first round.
"I'm super blessed and honored to be a part of my organization," the 23-year-old rookie said in a post game presser.

Clifford was named the Colorado Gatorade Player of the Year during his senior year of high school at the Vanguard School. Initially, he committed to Colorado and played at the school for three seasons.

Then he decided to transfer to CSU and quickly became a program star.

According to his NBA page, during his fifth year playing college hoops he averaged 18.9 points, 9.6 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.6 steals in 35.4 minutes per game.
