Global tensions reached a boiling point right here in Colorado.

On Sunday afternoon, state officials shared alarming updates about a startling incident in Boulder at the Pearl Street pedestrian mall. Six people were injured after a man with a makeshift flamethrower threw an "incendiary device" into a group of Pro-Israel protestors, according to the Associated Press.

Suspect Reportedly Shouted “Free Palestine” During Boulder Attack

The suspect reportedly yelled "Free Palestine" as he threw the flames into the crowd.

Who Was Targeted in the Boulder Flamethrower Incident?

The injured individuals were a part of a group called "Run For Our Lives — Boulder " and had been holding demonstrations since the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7th, 2023, according to NBC News.

Officials confirmed that the age of the victims of the Boulder attacks ranged from 67 to 88. Their injuries also ranged from minor to severe. It does not seem like anyone died in connection with the incident.

Who Is the Suspect in the Boulder Terror Attack?

The suspect is believed to be Mohamed Sabry Soliman, who is reportedly an Egyptian citizen. Officials believe that he acted alone.

Colorado Governor Jared Polis Responds to Boulder Terror Attack

Governor Jared Polis condemned the attacks as the events unfolded Sunday afternoon.

"Hate-filled acts of any kind are unacceptable," Polis said in a social media statement.

Street Closures in Downtown Boulder After Attack

Boulder law enforcement officials confirmed that as of 8:15 PM on Sunday night, Broadway to 15th Street would be closed between Lawry Lane to Spruce and 15th North to Pine.

The suspect was taken to the hospital following the attack and is expected to face charges connected to the attack, according to the Associated Press.
