Every year, there are nearly 30 thousand reports of missing children in the United States. These children are reported missing by parents, guardians, child welfare professionals, and law enforcement nationwide every day.

In 2023, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children helped families, law enforcement, and child welfare offices with reports of over 28,000 missing children. Some of those reports came out of Colorado.

The highest statistic shows that the majority of these children were either endangered or runaways. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children was able to help in the resolution of over 23,000 endangered, runaway children in 2023.

It has been more than three months since the start of 2025, and more than a dozen children in the state of Colorado have gone missing since January 1, 2025.
