The Golden Globes aired on Sunday, January 5. It has been a long time since I have watched an event like the Golden Globes. I stopped watching because awards shows like this drag on far too long. However, I watched the Golden Globes and I found the ceremony extremely entertaining.

Plus, Colorado got some love too. If you watched the Golden Globes, you may have been just as surprised as I was.

Brady Corbet shined bright last night. Not only did he win the Golden Globe for "Director of the Year", but his film "The Brutalist" also won "Best Motion Picture".

I have not seen the movie yet, but I am sure it is great. There was one thing that surprised me when Brady Corbet won Best Director. As he was walking up to accept the award a fun fact appeared on my screen. It said:

Corbet grew up working in a used and rare bookshop called Glenwood Books in his Colorado hometown.

We did some digging and discovered that Brady Corbet grew up in Glenwood Springs. Glenwood Books holds a very special place in his heart, too.

In an interview with Le Cinéma Club, Corbet said that working at Glenwood Books was formative. He talked about the owners Serena and Mike and how they assisted him with reading when he struggled when he was seven.

The bookstore specialized in first editions and rare books.
