HOV Lane Change Coming in January

Beginning in January, you will need at least three people riding in your car to use the express lanes on U.S. 36 and I-25.

The rule change is to help the Colorado Department of Transportation raise money. CDOT says the move to HOV +3 will help with congestion and the money from Express Lanes will help offset costs of operations and maintenance. Currently, if you use the HOV (high occupancy vehicle) lane, you need a minimum of two people. Drivers have the option of traveling for free in the general lanes.
