Forbes: New, Car-Free Town Could Be Coming to Colorado’s Front Range
According to Forbes, a 'wealth guru' is eyeing land near Longmont for a car-free community of 50,000 people.
Could you live without your car? I love to ride my bicycle as much as the next person in Fort Collins who owns a bike (read: everyone), but once it snows, no thanks.
The concept comes from a Netherlands-based company (where car-free towns are normal) to build a Dutch-style community where no one would use cars — they would be left in parking lots outside of the town.
'... many will think this is pie-in-the-sky – folks will label it as a “'high-tech hippie commune,' a planner tells Forbes.
