Colorado Inmates Will Begin Receiving COVID-19 Vaccinations
There are some people in Colorado that believe that inmates should not be vaccinated until the general public has a chance to receive their COVID-19 vaccine. But no matter what you think there will be inmates at the Denver County Jail that will soon be given the COVID-19 vaccine. The announcement was made yesterday but Denver mayor Michael Hancock as reported by MSN. This is happening thanks to the partnership of the Denver Sheriff Office and Denver Health.

Will All Colorado Inmates Be Eligible for the COVID-19 Vaccine?
No, the only inmates that will be eligible are those who would be qualified to receive the vaccine if they weren't currently incarcerated. So, right now the current inmate population of 60 and over and those who are already dealing with medical issues will be first in line to receive their vaccination.
Some Issues When Attempting to Vaccinate Inmates in Colorado:
Unfortunately, the short shelf life and storage needs for both the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines have made it difficult to transport and administer the vaccines to the people currently in custody. Colorado is expected to receive 45,000 Johnson & Johnson vaccines this week that should make the process much easier for everyone involved. The Johnson & Johnson vaccine is only one shot.
There are many different opinions on the different vaccinations and the vaccine in general but it seems that soon we will all have the option to get the vaccine or not. So, if you haven't thought about it already it's time to start thinking about if you want to receive the COVID-19 vaccine or not.
