As a music fan there is always something new and great, but there really is something special about the songs you grew up listening to. For me, that was 70′s and 80′s classic rock. If I am in a shi**y mood, I throw in a little Zeppelin or Rush and take a trip back to rolling in my mom’s T-Bird. Now every Wednesday you get to take that trip with me. It’s Way Back Wednesday with Butch, and today’s feature is a song we first heard this month exactly 25 years ago… Cinderella's, "Don't Know What You Got (Till It's Gone)."

"Don't Know What You Got (Till It's Gone)" came off of Cinderella's second studio album, Long Cold Winter, which was released in July of 1988. The album reached #10 in the US and became double-platinum for shipping 2 million copies in the US by the end of the year, just as their debut album Night Songs had done earlier. It was later certified triple platinum.

The song went on to be Cinderella's most popular radio hit, and also most successful on the charts reaching #12.

The song stays relevant in today's pop culture as it has popped up in in the South Park episode "Raisins," and also on the 2008 film The Wrestler.

Now take a trip back 25 years with us to July of 1988...
