Butch’s Monday Afternoon Chode – Russell Westbrook

Monday’s suck! There is no denying it, and no way around it. Still we have to get up, get dressed, deal with traffic, the boss, and annoying co-workers, and do it all with a smile. By Monday afternoon, you are ready to vent a bit, at least I am! That is why I have created the Monday Afternoon Chode. Basically a way for you to vent about somebody who pisses you off. Today my highlighted chode is the crybaby, cocky, cheatin' son of a gun who messed with the best mascot in all sports, Rocky, last night... Russell Westbrook from the Oklahoma City Thunder.

What is a chode? You can look it up on Urban Dictionary and get the actual street meaning, but to me it’s in the same line as douchebag, assh***, and dips***. Simply put, someone who pisses you off.

Everybody has someone in their life like this, and it can even be somebody you love, like your husband or mom, but still acted like a chode. Let’s try to stay away from politics though, because honestly no one gives a crap who you voted for or why. Anybody else is cool with me!

For this weeks edition of my Monday Afternoon Chode, I pick Russell Westbrook, the point guard for the Oklahoma City Thunder, who may be a really good basketball player, but in my book is a chode. Here is why…

First of all he is like almost every other player in the NBA today, and whines about every other call the referees make, and he carries himself like his you know what doesn't stink. Those two things aren't enough to get recognition as my Monday Chode though. You have to do something really bad.

Last night as Westbrook's Thunder were in Denver taking on MY Nuggets, Westbrook crossed the line. Rocky, the best mascot in all of sports, was on the court during a timeout when the players are supposed to be huddling and listening to their coach. Rocky was attempting his behind the back halfcourt shot. When he put the shot up it looked like it had a chance to go in, and low and behold there was Russell Westbrook's chode ass to grab the ball out of the air. If I were Rocky I would have tackled the douche.

The Nuggets got sweet revenge as they beat the best team in the Western Conference, but when the national sports folks at ESPN even said that it was messed up what Westbrook did, I can't help but say, hey Russell Westbrook.... You are a CHODE!!!!
