Billie Joe Armstrong Records Album With Norah Jones

Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has teamed up with  Norah Jones to record  a track-for-track tribute to the 1958 Everly Brothers album Songs Our Daddy Taught Us.

According to Rolling Stone, the album, 'Foreverly' will be released on November 25th and features Armstrong and Jones reinterpreting traditional songs like "Down In The Willow Garden," "Barbara Allen" and "Kentucky" that the Everly Brothers first covered on the original album 55 years ago.
Armstrong said in a statement that the project came together after he discovered the original Songs Our Daddy Taught Us album a couple of years ago. He explained:

"I thought of Norah because she can sing anything, from rock to jazz to blues, and I knew her harmonies would be amazing."

The album was recorded in nine days at a Manhattan studio called the Magic Shop, which is also what I have named my home office. It just sounds cooler to say, I'm headed to the Magic Shop.

This is where people post about how NOT punk rock this is, but how long ago did Green Day stop being punk rock? A LONG time ago. Plus, isn't being punk rock doing things that you want to do regardless of what other people think? Not that I would know. I am not punk rock either. Anyway, I think this sounds righteous. What's not to like about Norah Jones? She could sing the instructions to an Ikea desk and it would sound fantastic. You'd still get mad and throw stuff across the room because those instructions make no damn sense but at least your out of control temper would have a lovely soundtrack. On a side note, you really need to get that crap in check.
