Best Father’s Day Gifts According to Shawn
It's nice to know you are the worlds greatest dad, but who really wants to wear that around on a cheesy bright orange shirt? Sure, an ice scrapper that plugs into your cars cigarette lighter to heat the ice while you scrape it is a great invention, but it's 90 degrees outside these days and it'll be lost by the first snow anyways. The travel size George Foreman grill, the variety pack of cheap cologne, and the Bugs Bunny neck tie are all cool, but dad DOESN'T want any of it! Before you go and waste your money on something that will put a fake smile on dad's face for five minutes before its thrown in the storage room for the next thirty years, remember what dad's really like! They like to sit around the couch watching golf in nothing but an old Zeppelin t-shirt and boxers eating Cheetos drinking a Bud Light and not being nagged at. Take these things into consideration and you'll be sure to keep the smile on dad's face for at least an hour and the gift will be able to avoid the dreaded storage room for at least a month or two!
3D Blu-ray player

After Phil Mickelson has a five stroke lead at the U.S Open with four holes to play, dad will be ready to turn golf off, but still not ready to leave the couch. Wow him the best in home movie technology with a 3D Blu-Ray player. It seems through a little bit of research that Samsung is the top gun in making these high tech machines. They make five different models that range from about $180- $350. None of them come with the glasses that you need for the cool 3D effect though, so here is your reminder to pick up a pair for anyone who plans on watching the featured film. The local Wal-Mart and Best Buy will both carry what you are looking for, but I recommend Best Buy because of the knowledgeable staff that will help you get exactly what you are looking for.
Golf Clubs

- I don't care who you are, after watching a day full of golf at a beautifully landscaped golf course you are going to want to get out and play. There is one problem though, dad's clubs that his dad gave him in 1982, not going to cut it. He will be out there burning so many worms that he will never want to play again! An affordable and viable option is to get dad a new set of Nike Slingshot irons. They have an innovative "bridge" which creates an extremely forgiving club that will have dad thinking he is ready to join the PGA Tour. There are a few options on the clubs so they have a price tag of about $700-$800 for the newest set depending on what you choose, but you can pick up previous years models for as cheap as $200. Dick's Sporting Goods stores have a great golf section with guys who know what they are doing.
Rockies tickets

Vegas trip
Take him out for dinner

Dads love their kids, so no matter what kind of budget you are on, all dad really wants is to know that he matters for a day. If you feel the need to get him an engraved money clip, do it, it's the thought that counts. Now, if you want to wow dad and you are able to do it, I am sure he wont mind that either. Happy Father's day to all you dad's out there!
